Job description
A Level 6 entry position in (FRA) is critical to supporting airport operations service delivery, and the broader EMEA network. This role would provide hands on technical assistance, ensuring timely issue resolution and minimizing disruptions in Europe’s busiest locations. Having an additional dedicated resource will enhance operational efficiency, improve response times, and support key projects, including EMEA seasonal restarts and new station start ups. This position would also work closely with and support the senior engineer in executing critical initiatives, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvements.
Main duties
- Supports regional airports, customer service centers, contact centers and all other United Airlines facilities- Duties include walkthroughs, Digital Technology (DT) equipment support, preventative maintenance, mobility product support, DT infrastructure support, operational equipment, and communication rooms, base location inventory management, and supply storage
- Works with Sr. Support Engineer and performs system maintenance/administration, diagnostics, automated imaging of PC equipment/IT Infrastructure, installation and removal of PC equipment, assist end users with troubleshooting device performance issue
- Attends regional project meetings and provides project tracking and analysis
- Travels to sites/locations within Germany, Europe and occasionally the US
- Occasional assignments on weekends and legal holidays in accordance with German Working Hours Act
- Supports the integration of vendor tasks
- Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates
- Ensures adherence to quality standards, reviews project deliverables with Sr Support engineer, and resolves issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met on time
Required experience
- Associate degree or related experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of IT experience
- Ability to communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Aptitude for problem solving, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answer
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies
- Must be fluent in English and German (written and spoken), any additional language of advantage.
- Must be legally authorized to live and work in Germany for any employer without sponsorship and be legally authorized to travel for work within Europe and to enter the US.
