Fair balance of interests
In international comparison, Germany is already one of the leading nations when it comes to noise control initiatives at airports. BARIG and its member airlines support and look forward to a fair balance of interests concerning the air transport industry and the citizens and are, together with Frankfurt airport and the Hessian Ministry, part of the „Alliance for Noise Protection" in Hesse.
Many passive and active noise abatement measures are already realized successfully and there are more to be implemented. Further actions, however, have to take place on a voluntary basis and have to be agreed on between the airport operators, the airlines and every other necessary party. BARIG also appeals to the regional and local politicians to keep a sense of proportion concerning the development and e.g. not declaring official aircraft noise zones as residential areas in order to generate just income for the cities.
