BARIG Full Board I/2024 – In Focus: SAF Ramp-Up and Digital Transformation

At this year’s first BARIG Full Board on April 30 at the Lindner Hotel Frankfurt-Hoechst, the BARIG team welcomed numerous representatives of the more than 100 German and international member airlines and the international cross-industrial business partner network.

The networking and conference day started with a keynote by Aletta von Massenbach, CEO BER Airport, who presented future developments and focus topics of the capital city airport. In two following interesting round table discussions, industry executives talked about the market ramp-up for alternative aviation fuels and sustainable corporate culture as well as digital solutions for airport operations, cyber security, and the issue of staff shortages in the aviation sector. Furthermore, two representatives of Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, presented the topic of border management and outlined the EU Commission’s new Entry/Exit-System (EES) coming at the end of 2024, and ETIAS following later on.

Afterwards, the community rounded off the evening with a get-together and some further interesting conversations.
