ICF 2021: A New Terminal in the Making – BARIG Airlines Visit Frankfurt Airport’s Major Construction Site
The BARIG Infrastructure Committee Frankfurt (ICF) is currently focusing on the major construction project of Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport. In this context, the BARIG airline representatives are given regular updates on the progress of the construction site as well as the development of the design and the interior. Together with Fraport AG, they discuss future use and infrastructure matters. For the first time in over a year, the committee took place on site again, not only in the conference room but also directly on the construction site.
After a brief presentation by BARIG Secretary General Michael Hoppe on the current state of air traffic as well as the development of cargo and passenger volumes in the first half of 2021, Simone Schwab, Senior Vice President Aviation & Cargo Development at Fraport AG, presented the progress and concept of the new Pier G. Subsequently, they all visited the construction site together.
