The private airline Blue Air with headquarters in Bucharest is as of now a new member of the Board of Airline Representatives in Germany e.V. (BARIG), the association representing the mutual interests of meanwhile over 120 national and international airlines in Germany.

„We are pleased to welcome Blue Air to our association, yet another airline with a new business model. By integrating players with diverse business models, BARIG continuously expands its competence in the evolving market environment of the aviation industry. Thus we are always up to date for the requirements of the general conditions as well as for the negotiation partners from the economy, politics as well as from authorities and airports,” BARIG Secretary General Michael Hoppe explains.

The Romanian airline Blue Air carries with a dense network of destinations across Europe more than 5 million passengers a year. The airline offers flights on a regular basis from four airports in Germany to Bucharest, Bacau, Iasi and Sibiu. The Blue Air fleet currently comprises 26 Boeing 737 and is targeted to be expanded by another twelve Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft in 2019.

“In Germany, we are currently approaching Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, Stuttgart and Munich. We are pleased that BARIG will now also represent Blue Air in political and economic affairs in Germany. The association promotes core aviation topics and a future-oriented development of the air traffic location Germany. Our membership in the national Board of Airline Representatives of a key air traffic market like Germany is therefore immensely important for us,” Tudor Constantinescu, Chief Commercial Officer & Director at Blue Air comments.
